Do Women Trust Your Platform?

The trust-o-meter is based on two years of research and analysis to unbundle women's trust in digital platforms. With the lens of human-centered design, we conducted field work in urban and rural locations across four Indian states. Our sample comprised women between 12-50 years of age from low-income and marginalised households. This included formally-employed and home-based workers, school-going adolescents and college students, as well as intermediaries who act as critical service delivery touch-points for their communities.

Understanding and designing for their online experiences is critical to increasing trust in and adoption of digital platforms. Our approach focuses on the entire trust life-cycle: building, maintenance and repair. This ensures platforms are used beyond just initial download and discovery, that they are designed for sustained and meaningful use.
